GVMS’s Guidance Department provides a comprehensive counseling program that supports student achievement and success. Our mission is to promote intellectual, social, and emotional growth so that our students may become successful and responsible life-long learners. We collaborate with parents, teachers, the community and students to ensure that the developmental needs of each and every student are being met. Our department is fully integrated with the school’s standard of excellence.

Guidance Information Application DeadlineThe deadline to submit all PWCS specialty high school applications is Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Applications must be at their high school or postmarked by this date.
Letter to Parents/GuardiansAttention 8th grade students and families:
High school graduation requirements have changed for rising 9th grade students (current 8th graders). A letter was sent home with all 8th grade students on January 25, 2010 explaining the changes that have taken place. A copy of the letter can also be found below. To get to the letter, please scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will find the box entitled "Helpful Documents". Please click on the folder entitled "New Graduation Requirements". If you have questions, please contact Ms. Kaczkowski (KaczkoAL@pwcs.edu) Woodbridge High School Application Deadline Approaching!The deadline to submit applications for the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Specialty Program at Woodbridge High School is Friday, January 15, 2010. This is earlier than the other specialty programs. Once applications are received, letters including audition information will be mailed on January 22.
Specialty Program ApplicationsApplications for all PWCS high school specialty programs are now available in the Guidance Office through Ms. Kaczkowski. Please stop by and see her to pick one up!
High School TransfersPLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL HIGH SCHOOLS ARE ACCEPTING TRANFER STUDENTS INTO THEIR PROGRAM. The following high schools ARE accepting transfer students from other base high schools: * C. D. Hylton High School - Center for International Studies and Languages/Air Force JROTC
